Wine Dinners
River Restaurant Manager Marc Whitley will be hosting a series of wine tasting dinners in our private dining room. We will be working closely with recognised wine merchants and wine makers when possible. Our head Chef and his team relish the opportunity to create new dishes geared specifically to the regions, grapes and producers being featured. Hopefully the educational component will also provide you with some fun facts and figures. Each dinner is individually priced to include, a welcoming canapé and drinks reception in our library or terrace followed by dinner served in our private dining room to.

| 28th July 2008 | Cloudy Bay wines featuring some of the best wines to come out of New Zealand. We will be featuring Cloudy Bay Pelorous, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and my favourite their Pinot Noir. £55.00 per person. |
| 26th September 2008 | Domaine Sipp Mack: Vincent and Jacques Sipp are two brothers who are the producers of the infamous Alsace Wines, in an open fruit driven style. Each wine is typical of its grape variety and the two grand cru vineyards Osterberg and Rosacker allow all that is best of this wonderful region shine through. £65.00 per person. |
| 26th November 2008 | Bollinger Champagne dinner in honour of the release of the new James Bond movie, ‘Quantum of Solace’. Martini’s is will be served shaken not stirred in our library prior to dinner. £70.00 per person. |
| 23rd February 2009 | Jeff Chilcott, originally from New Zealand is Marchesi di Gresy’s wine maker and is one of the Piedmont top producers with vineyards spread over three growing states most notable Martinenga vineyard dedicated to Nebbiolo grapes for the production of their flagship Barberesco £60.00 per person. |
| 29th March 2009 | Canonbah Bridge and Rams leap located in New South Wales Australia. They produce robust Australian red wines including a shiraz and a shiraz/Grenache/mourvedre blend. Whites are elegant and sexy to include a semillion blanc and a methode champenoise sparkling wine. £65.00 per person. |
| 27th May 2009 | Through out the dinners we will be using the very best produce in the specially designed dishes for a build up to a spectacular finale that will incorporate all of the previous menus and wines. £75.00 per person. |
